BUFFALO, N.Y. – (November 13, 2020) – John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital is saying ‘thank you’ to #BillsMafia and fans around the globe for the outpouring of donations they received this week in memory of Josh Allen’s grandmother, Patricia Allen. Today the hospital unveiled a large banner in front of the hospital reading ‘Thank you Bills Mafia and fans across the globe for your support, in memory of Patricia Allen.’
The hospital also released a video today to share their support of Josh during this difficult time and messages of thanks to #BillsMafia for their overwhelming amount of donations.
As of 6 p.m. today, donations have exceeded $650,000. Most donations have been made in $17 increments, as Josh wears number 17. Additionally, some companies and foundations have contributed larger contributions in support of Josh, benefiting the patients at the hospital.
The Children’s Hospital of Buffalo Foundation and hospital leadership are meeting with Josh to determine where he and his family would like to see these donations directed and how they would like to recognize Patricia and the #BillsMafia in the most appropriate way within the hospital.
“Our whole team at the hospital has been keeping Josh and his family in our thoughts this week,” said Allegra C. Jaros, MBA, president, Oishei Children’s Hospital. “We cannot thank Bills fans enough for these donations in Patricia Allen’s honor. They will make such an impact for the care we provide to the moms, kids and babies in Western New York and beyond.”
