Patricia Allen Fund

Our History

The Patricia Allen Fund

In support of Josh’s loss, fans began donating in $17 increments to Oishei Children’s Hospital (OCH), a cause close to the quarterback’s heart. Donations quickly surpassed milestone amounts within the first week. By the end of 2020, the amount surpassed $1 million and the story was shared throughout the national media, reaching over half a billion impressions. Donations spanned the world, coming from all 50 states and 10 different countries.

In order to most efficiently use the funds generously gifted by the 30,000+ donors, OCH established the Patricia Allen Fund (PAF) with input from Josh Allen and his family in December of 2020. Furthermore, Team 17, donors dedicated to donating $17 or more a month to the PAF, was established and continues to expand and gain new members.

For Caleb graphic

When Caleb was little, he had difficulty moving around. He just couldn’t walk on his own, no matter how hard he tried. And when Caleb’s younger brother began to achieve milestones that Caleb had not, the family came to Oishei Children’s Hospital to find answers. At OCH, Caleb was diagnosed with cerebral palsy and ataxia. Here physicians were able to perform a spinal surgery on Caleb that brought increased mobility to his legs.

And before he left OCH, Caleb was able to stand unassisted.
